This work was inspired by similar paintings by Gustave Caillebotte done in Paris. I wanted the feeling of a bright afternoon in the city of Chicago. As with most of my paintings, I eliminate the human presence and focus on the city. This is a large work offering a window sized view of the Wells street bridge looking southwest from the Chicago River.
